BUTLER TRANSIT AUTHORITY: NEW TERMINAL
Butler, PA
The Butler Transit Authority relocated their City of Butler Bus Terminal to a new location. Th new location was nearer to the western residential area of the city, was close to many of the local service providers and the City of Butler Safety Building and was on a less busy street. This relocation required renovations of a building on West Newcastle Street. The space accommodates passengers waiting for the fixed rout bus pickups and is a transfer point for passengers going from one route to another. The facility included a large waiting area, new accessible restrooms, office and ticket center, and bus driver lounge.
AAE Provided complete comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for the project. The project required the complete reconstruction of the building interior and improvements to the building façade. AAE worked closely with the Butler Transit Authority to customize the space to fit their needs. It was important to provide complete ADA access for the passengers who use the bus services. The façade was designed to provide the proper identity for the facility as well as improve its image.
